ABOUT AESOP'S LIFE

Aesop was believed to be a Greek storyteller who lived from around 620-560 B.C...,
But some people don't think he actually existed. Historians claim there is not sufficient evidence to prove his existence. However, he was mentioned by earlier Greek philosophers such as Aristotle and Herodotus, giving some form of proof. But this still isn't good enough to some historians out there today. No one is really sure where he was born or where he died, or how he died, because some people say he was born in Athens, some other say he was born in Thrace, and some even say that he was born in Ethiopia or Egypt, and not of Greek origin altogether! But here, we'll just give him the benefit of the doubt, and say he was a storyteller who lived around 2,500 to 3,000 years ago.
Once Aesop reached adulthood, he began to tell his famous fables. Although, he never wrote down any of his fables, as paper or parchment had yet to be invented. Instead, he told them orally, enchanting townsfolk with his wild tales of talking animals, and the enriching life lessons they convey. He wrote over 600 tales over six decades (60 years in lament terms), and nearly, if not all of them have survived into today's day and age.
Nobody really knows how Aesop died either. Some historians say he died after he stole a golden glass from the Temple for Apollo in Delphi. As punsihment for his death, he was thrown from Delphi's cliffs and killed. At least, such is the myth. There are a lot of superstitions and beliefs on how Aesop was murdered, and next to all of them tell of Aesop being thrown off a cliff somewhere, preferrably Delphi. But again, we shall give the fabulist the benefit of the doubt and say he was punished for his theft at Delphi by being pushed off the rocky cliffs. Thus, the storyteller's life ended in 560 B.C at the age of 60.
